For years my expression was in the simplicity of the sumi line. Now I am painting watercolor on YUPO. YUPO is a synthetic paper of 100% polyproylene, pH neutral. This exciting medium enables me to create a colorful watercolor with a great deal of texture. The finished piece is varnished with an acrylic spray.

A native of Wisconsin, Barbara received her BFA at the Art Institute of Chicago. Barbara has shown her work in New York at Lincoln Center and the Salmagundi Club. She has shown in Japan and Germany and in 1994 had a solo show in Paris, France. She is listed in both the Encyclopedia of Sumi-E and Who's Who in International Sumi-E Artists.

She is a teacher of both Sumi and Watercolor on Yupo.

Barbara is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Women Painters of Washington and Puget Sound Sumi Artists.
